Openning the blinkers

Ah, P. Jha's relativism rears it's ugly head in Obscured_by_myth! I honestly understand why Jha would be so frustrated and why ToI would run this fairytale. IMO, it is disgraceful ToI(let) is able to print such ill researched leftist propaganda without asking for evidence first.

Using material from LEFTIST and BIASED source such as Pankaj Jha clearly displays shoddy journalism on ToI(let) paper's part. Do you even proofread before printing?

" Worse, chronicles written during the Sultanate period often castigated polytheists and idol-worshippers. This, however, is a gross distortion of truth."
Who the eff needs chronicles when quran exists to this day and age.

Quran says

Kill the idolaters wherever you find them. 009.005
Stay away from idolaters. 006.106

"looking down upon believers of rival religious systems was not unique to Islam".
On this, he presents an example of a Sanskrit play Prabodhachandrodaya while I can quote from the Quran and Hadiths "looking down upon believers of rival religious systems". So, Mr. Jha is equating a play with Quran, wow.

From the Quran:

Kill disbelievers wherever you find them. If they attack you, then kill them. Such is the reward of disbelievers. (But if they desist in their unbelief, then don't kill them.) 002.191

For they emanate from the communalist article of faith that India is a natural habitat for Hindus.
Jha ji can you prove otherwise. Bear in mind, the Kolkatta 24 Karat Kommie backed AIT/AMT's propagator-in-chief Weasel Witzel has shifted grounds on this one.

Communist wordplay: Hindusim/Brahmanism
Communist historians and sociologists have been fortifying it by rewriting and reinterpreting Indian history as a perennial struggle between Brahmin oppressors and the rest. Anti-Brahminism is now part of the official doctrine of the secular, socialist Republic of India. Early Christian missionaries tried it and failed, muslims tried and failed, communists and bible humpers are trying their level best and they, too, will fail.

Frawley sums up these communist wankers, "Marxists in India have replaced the class warfare model of European communism with their own idea of caste warfare based on turning the Brahmins into the main enemies of the people."

I thank ToI(let) paper for Jha's broadcast, because they've made themselves look like fools trying to create a moral equivalence hogwash by no less an expert.

Lastly, in order for ToI(let) paper to regain any credibility you need to give space for people to properly respond to Jha's 'creativity'.

ps: Is Jha from the cesspool of Doctor-Engr-Reject's abode aka JNU?

Fight for our forgotten brothers: Kashmiri Hindus

The land of such gifted men as Abhinavagupta, Anandavardhana, Bhaskara, Somadeva, and Kalhana has today been overrun by Islamic Jihadis. There seems no end to the bloodlust running riot out there contrary to what its perpetrators, both within and across the border claim.

Whenever there is talk of 'Kashmir problem', why do our senile politicians get a collective amnesia about Hindu's in Kashmir who were ethnically cleansed. Our pyare chacha Nehru opened doors for Tibetans, who suffered the same fate but tragically Nehru and his descendants (Gandhi) did not even acknowledge about the fate of Kashmiri Hindu's in our own backyard. Grrrrr.....

Our politicians will talk to multiple Islamic jihadi organizations but atleast acknowledge the plight of Kashmiri Hindu's. Amidst this gloomy scene, please welcome and support the cause of Kashmiri Pandits who have started this courageous initiative.

I want the Islamic Terrorist's Time Machine

With this report , SIMI and Sheikh have the unique distinction in the world of possessing a time machine.
Sheikh, in his confession to the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), said he attended a programme organised by the banned SIMI in May 2001 at Pune, where he was told about atrocities on Muslims during the 2002 sectarian violence in Gujarat
Sheikh in 2001 knew about the yet-to-happen 2002 Gujarat turmoil. WOW! I want this Islamic jihadi invention (first of its kind) for time gazing.

Now pay attention, Sheikh Chillie: I'm not going to say this 10,000 times. Connecting terrorist attack to a motive is quite old in playing the leftist 'I am a victim' game. Will Mahmud Ghazni's Somnath temple plunder qualify as reason for Babri Temple removal if we consider your terrorism-for-riots reasoning? Wotsay!

Cricket: Secret of Pakistani Pace

Nahari and Naandrolone.

I thought drugs and steroids (heroin is no drug, it's bizzness) were banned in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Pakistani 's are uber-muslims and the leading light of muslim Ummah. How dare they, islamic nookular bum and Generally uptight Musharraf notwithstanding!

But this was not the first time and this will, I am sure, not be the last. There was another 'drug-induced own3d' moment when during the 1992-93 tour of West Indies, Pakistani players Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Mushtaq Ahmed and Aqib Javed were frogmarched by the cops from the beach to the Police Station. They were detained and then released on bail for marijuana possession.

US text row resolved by an Indian

Times of India has abandoned truth in its reporting. It published, US text row resolved by Indian (page 1, page 2) and tried its best to negatively portray Hindu American Foundation (HAF).

First headsup was D.N. Jha (Indian in the US text row resolved by Indian) linking up with Michael Witzel and Friends of South Asia.

Another came from page 2 of the article

Giving a hint of the Aryan origin debate in India, Jha asked the court not to fall for the "indigenous Aryan" claim since it has led to "demonisation of Muslims and Christians as foreigners and to the near denial of the contributions of non-Hindus to Indian culture

got me thinking whether this guy (DN Jha) resolved the text row or is he helping the Marxist - Friends of South Asia (FOSA) peddle the Aryan Invasion Theory in the garb of 'secularism'? While checking on D.N. Jha's columns' on Outlook India , he comes out as an Useful Idiot.

most dangerous Useful Idiot is the “Politically Correct.” He is the master practitioner of euphemism, hedging, doubletalk, and outright deception.

Hindu American Foundation (HAF) response to the ToI article.

D.N. Jha did file an affidavit as part of an amicus curiae (friend of the court) brief filed by the self-proclaimed Marxist-communist group, “Friends of South Asia” (FOSA). However, Judge Partick Marlette of the California Superior Court rejected the brief outright, as it lacked merit and relevance.
One cannot help but feel dissappointed with Times of India which has made a habit of distorting facts to suit their agenda. Would the ToI respond? I doubt it.

Aryan Invasion Theory - Debunked

University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Center for Indic Studies

July 3, 2006

Press Release

Scientists Collide with Linguists to Assert Indigenous origin of Indian Civilization

Comprehensive population genetics data along with archeological and astronomical evidence presented at June 23-25, 2006 conference in Dartmouth, MA, overwhelmingly concluded that Indian civilization and its human population is indigenous.

In fact, the original people and culture within the Indian Subcontinent may even be a likely pool for the genetic, linguistic, and cultural origin of the most rest of the world, particularly Europe and Asia.

Leading evidences come from population genetics, which were presented by two leading researchers in the field, Dr. V. K. Kashyap, National Institute of Biologicals, India, and Dr. Peter Underhill of Stanford University in California. Their results generally contradict the notion Aryan invasion/migration theory for the origin of Indian civilization.

Underhill concluded "the spatial frequency distributions of both L1 frequency and variance levels show a spreading pattern emanating from India", referring to a Y chromosome marker. He, however, put several caveats before interpreting genetic data, including "Y-ancestry may not always reflect the ancestry of the rest of the genome"

Dr. Kashyap, on the other hand, with the most comprehensive set of genetic data was quite emphatic in his assertion that there is "no clear genetic evidence for an intrusion of Indo-Aryan people into India, [and] establishment of caste system and gene flow."

Michael Witzel, a Harvard linguist, who is known to lead the idea of Aryan Invasion/migration/influx theory in more recent times, continued to question genetic evidence on the basis that it does not provide the time resolution to explain events that may have been involved in Aryan presence in India.

Dr. Kashyap's reply was that even though the time resolution needs further work, the fact that there are clear and distinct differences in the gene pools of Indian population and those of Central Asian and European groups, the evidence nevertheless negates any Aryan invasion or migration into Indian Subcontinent.

Witzel though refused to present his own data and evidence for his theories despite being invited to do so was nevertheless present in the conference and raised many questions. Some of his commentaries questioning the credibility of scholars evoked sharp responses from other participants.

Rig Veda has been dated to 1,500 BC by those who use linguistics to claim its origin Aryans coming out of Central Asia and Europe. Archaeologist B.B. Lal and scientist and historian N.S. Rajaram disagreed with the position of linguists, in particular Witzel who claimed literary and linguistic evidence for the non-Indian origin of the Vedic civilization.

Dr. Narahari Achar, a physicist from University of Memphis clearly showed with astronomical analysis that the Mahabharata war in 3,067 BC, thus poking a major hole in the outside Aryan origin of Vedic people.

Interestingly, Witzel stated, for the first time to many in the audience, that he and his colleagues no longer subscribe to Aryan invasion theory.

Dr. Bal Ram Singh, Director, Center for Indic Studies at UMass Dartmouth, which organized the conference was appalled at the level of visceral feelings Witzel holds against some of the scholars in the field, but felt satisfied with the overall outcome of the conference.

"I am glad to see people who have been scholarly shooting at each other for about a decade are finally in one room, this is a progress", said Singh.

The conference was able to bring together in one room for the first time experts from genetics, archeology, physics, linguistics, anthropology, history, and philosophy. A proceedings of the conference is expected to come out soon, detailing various arguments on the origin of Indian civilization.
+++++++END++++++++

Damn you Witzel weasel, you have single handedly stolen the raison d' etre of our (pseudo)Indian communist brigade . Skepticism is healthy, but apply it equally. To both sides. Don't worry, eat curry.

Yoga - The Headstand - Shirsh asana

It is an extremely powerful asana. It is called the "king of asanas" because of its overall effect on the whole body. For beginners, it is better to start this in a corner so that you can practice it without the fear of falling down. Ask a friend to help you with this in the beginning.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Technique

You must use extra padding for the headstand, so use a folded blanket or some extra foam on top of your yoga mat. Don't use a pillow, since it's too soft.

If you don't feet very confident about going straight into the headstand, try stage 1 first. Once you are confident with stage 1, you can go on to stage 2, which is the standard headstand.

If you wish to try it on your own, place a pillow lengthwise behind your head, in case you fall over backwards.

Stage 1 (For Beginners)

  1. Put your yoga mat into a comer, kneel down in front of it and place your interlocked fingers in the comer close to the walls.
  2. Put your head into the hollow of the palms, rise off the knees and take a step or two towards the comer.
  3. Lift one leg and place it in the comer against the wall. If you are a little unsure, ask a friend to hold the leg and put it in the corner. Now, just kick the other leg up. Stay there for about 15 seconds, trying to remain relaxed.
  4. To come out of the headstand, just lower one leg at a time. Again, if you feel unsure, ask your friend to hold one of your legs while you lower the other.

Start off in the headstand for about 15 seconds. Increase the time by 15 seconds every week until you are doing three minutes.

Stage 2 (The Standard Headstand)

  1. Kneel down on your yoga mat. Interlock the fingers of your hands and place them and your forearms on the extra padding on the yoga mat. Keep the elbows fairly close together.
  2. Place the back of your head into the hollow of the palms (not on the palms or fingers). Rise up off your knees and take a step or two towards your head.
  3. Inhale, and slowly raise the legs until they are vertical. Keep your back straight and try to relax. Breathe slowly and deeply from the abdomen.
  4. Concentrate on the brain or the pineal gland between the eyebrows.
  5. To come down, bend your knees and lower one leg and then the other. As for the beginners' stage, start off in the headstand for about 15 seconds and increase the time by 15 seconds every week, until you are doing three minutes.

Benefits

  1. The headstand increases circulation to the brain, which causes improved brain function (intelligence and memory) and increased vitality and confidence.
  2. It improves many ailments, such as nervousness, tension, fatigue, sleeplessness, dullness, fear, poor blood circulation, bad memory, asthma, headaches, constipation, congested throat, liver or spleen, for female disorders, the initial stages of eye and nose troubles, and general lack of energy, vitality or self confidence.
  3. It stimulates four of the most important endocrine glands - the pituitary, the pineal, the thyroid, and the parathyroid glands that are responsible for our very existence, for they keep the body mechanism in good working order. Pituitary gland is called the master gland of the body. As a consequence, the practice of the headstand helps us to get relief from many of our troubles, physical as well as mental, or to prevent them. It has a very beneficial effect on the whole body.
  4. It promotes hair growth by increasing circulation to the scalp.
  5. It helps to put the spine into correct alignment.
  6. It restores the position of vital organs by reversing gravity.
  7. The quality of sleep is improved. Poor sleep is often due to an excess of nerve impulses from the reticular formation to the cerebral cortex in the brain. The headstand causes an increase in circulation to the neck, which stimulates the baroreceptors in the neck. This calms the reticular formation down, causing reduced nerve impulses to the cerebral cortex. This results in a peaceful, deep steep.

Because of the many benefits of the headstand, the yogis often refer to it as the 'king of the asanas'.

Time:

Do the headstand for fifteen seconds at first, adding fifteen more per week. The maximum time for it should not be more than twelve minutes, if it is done in conjunction with other exercises.

Caution

  1. Don't do the headstand if you have high or low blood pressure. First get your blood pressure normal by natural means such as good nutrition, aerobic exercise and the other asanas. Even just giving up salt and taking garlic daily (tablets or in cooking) will cause a substantial reduction in your blood pressure.
  2. Atherosclerosis (blocked blood vessels) and any history of strokes are also contraindications to doing the headstand. You must improve your circulatory system first, before attempting it.
  3. If you have any serious eye diseases, ask your eye specialist's advice about doing the headstand.
  4. Avoid this exercise if you are suffering from constipation, when the stool is excessively dry, if you have pus in your ears, if you are suffering from chronic nasal catarrh, or from very weak eye capillaries. Avoid this exercise if you have an organically defective pituitary, pineal or thyroid gland.
  5. If you suffer from a neck injury or advanced arthritis in your neck, again you must improve your neck condition first. See your chiropractor, follow the nutritional principles in this book and do the other asanas to improve your neck. If you have a serious neck condition and you wish to get the benefits of the headstand, you can purchase an inversion apparatus, which gives you all the benefits without compression of the neck. In fact, this equipment produces traction of your neck, so your neck condition will actually improve.

Don't let any minor neck pain stop you from doing the headstand, since most of the weight of the body is actually supported by the forearms. There is very little pressure on the head and therefore very minimal compression of the neck.

Works wonders 4 me.

Danish Imam fuelled the cartoon rage.

Danish Imam Ahmad Abu Ladan, leader of The Islamic Society of Denmark, toured the middle east to create awareness of supposed anti-Islamic cartoons and included this black and white photo as well as two other undocumented examples. Akhmad Akkari, spokesman of the tour, explained that the three drawings had been added to “give an insight in how hateful the atmosphere in Denmark is towards Muslims.”
